Curated Eat List: Melbourne

Like every other cosmopolitan city, everything changes so fast in Melbourne, following my photo diary, I have compiled a list of places I love which are mainly a goodie but (probably) an oldie.

“THE CURATED EAT LIST: Melbourne”

  • Stokehouse in CBD… for Friday boozy cocktails and guaranteed great food (business, after work crowd)
  • DOC Pizza (always the Prosciutto & rocket thin crust straight from the wood-fire oven)
  • Messina Gelato (dare I say best Gelato in Australia?)
  • The European for oysters and bone marrow (finally they manage to put this back on the printed menu)
  • Supernormal… the new fusionAsian restaurant
  • Pillar of Salt: Everything on the menu (raw fish salad is to die for and blueberry smoothie)
  • Cafe e Cucina for Seafood Pasta en papillote (argh cravings)
  • Lucy Liu – another new Asian addition
  • Post work drinks at Hihou (very low key Japanese place)
  • East – the new Hu Tong for dumplings
  • Hobba for breakfast (absolutely gorgeous gorgeous menu)
  • Yardmill for fresh-pressed juices
  • Cutler & Co.
  • Cumulus Inc for breakfast
  • MoViDa for Spanish
  • Touche Hombre & Fonda for your burrito cravings
  • Attica
  • Burch & Purchese for fancy-ass desserts
  • Vue du Monde – Bistro Vue is also my all time fave for French
  • Rockpool for steak
  • Pei Modern
  • Grossi Florentino (grab a seat outside on sunny day – perfect Italian)

Coffee:

  • Sensory Lab
  • Brother Baba Budan
  • Manchester Press
  • Seven Seeds
  • Coin Laundry
  • Auction Rooms

If you get a chance to go out of town:

  • Royal Mail
  • Lake House in Daylesford
  • Brae
  • Port Phillip Estate
